The SBCM - Brazilian Symposium on Computer Music is a biannual event with international recognition in the field of computer music organized by NUCOM, the Special Committee on Computer Music of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). This 13th edition will be held from 31 August to 3 September 2011 in the beautiful island of Vitoria, capital of the State of Espirito Santo, Brazil, and will address among other issues, the use of technologies for music without borders.
Researchers, scientists, composers, educators, manufacturers, and anyone concerned with the interaction between music and technology is invited to submit works.
During the symposium there will be speeches by renowned researchers, technical and music paper sessions, discussion panels, workshops and concerts. The program will include, among others, a keynote speech and concert by one of the pioneers on Computer Music, Professor Barry Truax (Simon Fraser University, Canada).
Submissions can be made in the following categories: Technical Papers, Musical Papers, Music Compositions, and Posters.

The SBCM: On Time / On the Spot is a space for artists, musicians and researchers who want to share their ideas in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. See information on SBCM On the Spot.
Works must be submitted in PDF format via the JEMS online submission system. Submissions in Spanish, Portuguese and English are welcome.
Technical papers (up to 12 pages) should present original research contributions. Music Papers (up to 12 pages) should describe the experience of composers and users of computational tools to produce music. Extended abstracts of posters (up to 4 pages) should present research work in progress.
Please carefully note the instructions contained in the publication templates. Works that do not comply may not be published. Get the template files to prepare the manuscripts according to the guidelines of the SBC. In order to get the paper published, it is required that at least one author register for the symposium by July 22th, 2011.
