I understand that under no circumstances will the symposium’s organizing committee be liable to meet custom duties related to my application. I also agree that entries will not be returned and that they will be added to NUCOM’s music library, located at LaMuT (Escola de Música da UFRJ). In case of a successful application, I agree to provide the necessary material for the performance of the work (such as the instrumental parts for pieces for string orchestra or jazz ensemble) at no cost to the organizing committee. I understand that the jury’s decision is final.

Don’t forget that entries must be accompanied by a short CV and program notes. In the case of Music on Tape, candidates must supply a DAT or a CD with the recording of the piece. For Pieces for Instruments (solo, string orchestra or jazz ensemble) and Tape, the full score, the tape part (DAT or CD) and a recording of the piece must be supplied. In the case of Pieces for Instruments (solo, string orchestra or jazz ensemble) and Live Electronics, candidates must provide the full score, a recording of the work and a detailed description of the equipment used. In the case of Algorithmic Instrumental Pieces, candidates must supply the score and evidence of the computing technology and the algorithmic processes employed in the composition. (This may be done in the form of some analytical discussion and illustrations such as printed patches, tables, etc.)
